Buy the clay, tools, and materials to establish a ceramics workshop at an orphanage in Mexico.
We’re excited to share an inspiring opportunity to support our partner Tashirat Orphanage in creating a sustainable ceramics program for young adults with greater disabilities who will require long-term assisted living. This program will give these young people the skills to become economically self-sufficient while enriching their lives, fostering self-esteem, and providing meaningful, creative expression.
Grant Total: $5,400
More about the Project
Currently, a ceramics teacher is offering a two-month course for Tashirat’s children, and she’s also training a staff member to take on this role permanently. The response has been incredible—our young adults have embraced ceramics with enthusiasm, discovering a therapeutic outlet that transcends their physical limitations. Every child has shown they can participate in this art form, building confidence and joy through creative work.
With this grant, Tashirat will purchase the necessary clay, tools, and materials to establish a permanent ceramics workshop, providing these young people with the resources to continue producing artisan pieces well after the initial course ends. Not only will the workshop offer a consistent creative outlet, but it will also allow Tashirat to sell the ceramics to support the program’s self-sustainability.
Your support can help Tashirat create a thriving, self-sustaining ceramics workshop that enables these young adults to build skills, grow in confidence, and produce beautiful work they are proud of. Together, let’s make this empowering program a reality for the children of Tashirat!
